The Parish lies on the A19, south of York in North Yorkshire and incorporates the villages of Deighton and Crockey Hill.

The Parish Council, the lowest tier of Government, is formed by up to seven Parish Councillors, supported by a part-time Clerk, representing approximately 250 electors.
